Our Academies

Sussex Learning Trust is a multi-academy trust serving communities across Mid Sussex, Chichester, and surrounding areas. Our Trust currently oversees six successful academies:

  • Warden Park Secondary Academy – Cuckfield
  • Northlands Wood Primary Academy – Haywards Heath
  • Warden Park Primary Academy – Haywards Heath
  • Woodgate Primary Academy – Pease Pottage
  • Chichester Free School – Chichester
  • Billingshurst Primary Academy – Billingshurst

Trustees and Governors

Our Trustees and School Governors play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction, leadership, and ongoing development of our Trust and academies. These are voluntary roles, bringing a range of professional and personal experience to support, challenge, and inform decision-making.

Trustees

Trustees oversee the governance of the Trust as a whole. Their responsibilities include:

  • Setting the Trust’s strategic vision and objectives.
  • Approving budgets and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Holding senior leaders accountable for the performance and outcomes of all academies.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

School Governors

Governors provide guidance and oversight at individual academies. Their responsibilities include:

  • Supporting school leadership in achieving strategic goals.
  • Monitoring pupil outcomes and educational performance.
  • Ensuring each academy meets its statutory obligations.
  • Engaging with parents, staff, and the wider community.
